Why Spaceline?

We are a vertically integrated engineering and manufacturing company. We design, build and test the systems we design under a single roof so we can control the end product quality.

We take our experience in the space launch and test industry where we successfully designed and built the most critical systems and apply it to every new product we design. The fundamental physics and engineering principles apply no matter the application and industry.

Spaceline operates with these core tenets:

  • One test can prove or disprove weeks of analysis.
  • If there is a problem, drive down to root cause and fix it forever.
  • Design, development, and operations require personnel to be tough and competent.
  • Planning is everything.
  • Deliver for the customer or someone else will.

Leadership

Chris Wallden

Founder & Technical Lead

Leveraging his fluid systems and cryogenics experience at SpaceX, Chris Wallden directs the engineering and production operations at Spaceline Technologies. He specializes in the design and fabrication of complex high performance systems, bridging the gap between engineering operational reliability for mission-critical applications.

Facility
Spaceline Technologies operates out of a 9000 sq ft engineering and fabrication space on historic Paine Field equipped with state of the art machinery that allows us to manufacture high quality systems and products.

The engineering team uses a suite of advanced design and analysis software to precisely predict system performance and prevent failures.

Spaceline has a full suite of flow and pressure testing capabilities including both cryogenics and high pressure gases. Fabricated systems undergo a rigorous activation procedure to prove performance before delivery.

Standards & Compliance

Our Commitment to Precision and Safety

At Spaceline Technologies, we operate at the intersection of extreme environments and mission-critical engineering. We recognize that in the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors, compliance isn't just a requirement—it is the foundation of mission success and product safety.

Technical and Safety Standards

Our team designs, fabricates and tests in strict accordance with recognized industry codes. We can ensure compliance with the following codes and other customer requirements:

  • ASME B31.3: Process Piping for high-pressure and cryogenic fluid applications.
  • ASME B31.12: Hydrogen Piping and Pipelines, ensuring the highest safety for liquid hydrogen storage and fueling.
  • ASME Section VIII: Design and fabrication of Pressure Vessels.
  • ASME Section IX: Spaceline maintains Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualifications to ASME Section IX.

  • CGA Standards: Adherence to Compressed Gas Association guidelines for the safe handling and storage of industrial gases, relief valve calculations and system design.
  • NFPA (National Fire Protection Association): Design and site layout to fire safety codes and safe distances.
  • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration): Rigorous workplace safety protocols for testing and operations.
  • Space Systems Command Manual 91-710: Our engineers are experienced with design and operations on federal launch ranges including 91-710.

Quality Assurance & Testing

Every system delivered by Spaceline Technologies undergoes a comprehensive validation process. This includes:

  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Visual and volumetric inspection of critical components and weldments.

  • Activation & Commissioning: On-site verification and procedure authoring to ensure the operating system meets the "as-designed" specifications.

Security

  • ITAR/EAR Compliance: We maintain strict control over export-restricted technical data.

  • Cybersecurity: We are continuously evolving our digital infrastructure to meet NIST and CMMC standards for the protection of Controlled Information (CUI).
